Earth Hour GenSan 2012

Earth Hour is a worldwide event organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and held towards the end of March annually, encouraging households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change. The event in General Santos City , prepared by the Kabataan Media Production(KMP) directed by Pericles Justiniani(Chairman), Rogelio Mesicula and members,  to their very first external activity.This year’s celebration was awesome and a great success for the generals. And it’s KMP’s flagship event that signifies unity and camaraderie this mainly the start for the KMP’s yearlong pledge to help our human ecology. The group had planned to have a comprehensive concert event that entertained few of generals; many talents had been showed such as fire dancing, birit sa awitan at tugtugin, rap,  hiphop dance and film showing that kept the crowd ecstatic. And it said to be it’s more fun here in General Santos City.

And for the main event, for the symbolic switch-off was the sharing of a gage of battle and commitment by the participants to be lived in a happy lifestyle and support the call for action on climate change beyond the Earth Hour.

“Earth Hour became a global movement in 2008. The Philippines was the first Southeast Asian nation to pledge full support.”
